The title of the post is not misspelled. Lindsay has a New Jersey accent when she says words with the letter "R" in them. Her teacher and I both thought we should have the school's speech therapist observe her. Ms. Hataway did this and said there's nothing to worry about. She said that developmentally they don't worry about things like this until 3rd grade. She also said that while she was doing her observation that Lindsay self-corrected herself several times after pronouncing some "R" words wrong. Her opinion was that Lindsay knows how these words need to be pronounced, she just needs to be reminded when she's rushing through them and says them wrong!
Halloween evidently is forbidden in Lindsay's school system, so they had "storybook character day" today at LEJ's school. She went as Pocahontas to school, but after I picked her up we had to make the transformation into a "Rhinestone Princess"! She looked beautiful.
After getting her costume, hair, and accessories perfect we were off to her piano lesson, then to Fred & Annie's house (where they not only had twreets for Lindsay but for me too), then to Ms. Marguerite's party, and then off twrick or twreeting with her best friend, Cassandra, in Plum Creek. They had a great time and their candy bags were overflowing! Even after all the sugar she ingested it wasn't long after we got home that she was fast asleep.
Need my sisters' help here to correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't EVER remember going trick or treating. My only "small child" Halloween memory is either me or Brenda dressed up as the devil (I'm sure it had to have been Brenda since it was the most appropriate costume for her and not me) at Granny Erna's house on (??can't remember the name of the street??) in Junction. My "bigger kid" Halloween memories are of "raiding" on Halloween night, and since I'm not sure the statute of limitations has run out yet, I'm not admitting to anything!
Happy Halloween 2008!

I don't actually remember "trick or treating"--but I do remember dressing up and going to the carnival or fair--usually on the old high school tennis courts or at the building where Meals on Wheels is now--and if any one was a little devil sweet thing it was YOU!
Your daughter was absolutely beautiful in both costumes!!
Glad to hear about her speech and good job for listening and doing what I ask of you!
Love--your sweetest angel sister,
Brenda
I had forgotten all about the carnival on the old tennis courts -- Mom quickly reminded me that I was not as deprived as I thought when I accused her of not taking me trick or treating!
Lindsay does resemble me in the beautiful department, doesn't she?
And don't I always do what you ask of me -- usually -- at some point -- in some way -- most of the time?
XOXOXOXO, Sandra
