For the last 3 mornings Brenda, Tommy and I have gone for a seashell hunt at 6:30 a.m. One of the sunrise pictures is from our first morning outing.
We haven't had much success with finding many shells but the walks and the views have been great. My greatest find has been seabeans. If you've never heard of them they're really seed pods that wash up on the sea shores from far away places. I've found 2 brown hamburgers and 1 seaheart. I will post photos of them soon.
We've had an awesome time so far. The weather has been perfect. It sprinkled on us yesterday morning, but we were already wet anyway so it didn't slow us down any. We go to the beach every morning, come in for lunch, some nap, and then go back to the beach in the afternoon.
I've decided I must have been deprived as a child and never had a sandbox because my favorite activity has been building sandcastles. Uncle Tommy has been helping me with that and I've got some photos already posted of them. The first one we built wasn't that great, but the one we built yesterday I was very proud of. Unfortunately the tide got up real high last night and washed most of it away. I should be upset that I have to start all over, but I'm not.
We went sand crabbing last night and made quite a spectacle of ourselves. All 15 of us had on those neon glow necklaces and bracelets and our flashlights. Once you find one with your flashlight they start running real fast so you have to try to keep your light on them and chase them with a butterfly net. I think we managed to scoop up about 20 of them. Miss G and Lisa stayed on the balcony and watched and laughed at us.
I've got to go and get my swimsuit on and hit the beach. I've got a design floating around in my mind for my new sandcastle, so I've gotta go before I forget it!
