Dancer, Softball Player & Pinewood Derby Racer

Lindsay earned all of those titles this Saturday and Sunday!

Saturday I took her to a fall festival at one of the local elementary schools that her dance class was practicing their routine which they will take to competition in March and April of next year. She LOVES getting up on the stage and preforming in front of an audience! I am SO glad she didn't follow in my footsteps in this regard. The mere thought of getting up in front of people and doing ANYTHING gives me the shakes!

As soon as she got off the stage we were off to her last softball game. She changed out of her dance clothes and into her softball uniform in the car on the way. When we pulled up at the fields we had about 3 minutes until the game started! She got to play pitcher and had a good game. This was our first time at "coach pitch" softball and it was definitely a learning experience. The Fall League is definitely not as organized and active as the Spring League, but it was a good opportunity to hone her skills!

Sunday afternoon we're off to the Powderpuff Pinewood Derby for the Girl Scouts! (Yes, I did let Lindsay paint "her" car Saturday night, but she got bored with the whole process after the second coat of paint, so unfortunately I had to finish it the way I wanted it!) The race event was supposed to be from 2 - 4 . We got there at 1:30 and after weighing in had to add some more weights to the car. I knew it was too light when we left home! We got registered and then had to wait ... and wait ... while everyone else got registered. There was a total of 140 cars entered and they didn't start the races until 3:00. They decided to only race 2 cars at a time, and once they began the timekeeping technology didn't work so I have no idea how fast our car was. I only know that out of our troop group of 4 who we raced against that Lindsay won 2 heats out of 3!

I lived through this week (all 7 days) in which Lindsay had an activity, and thankfully our schedule should get much better.
