A Sight for Sore Eyes

Judge Warner made a surprise visit to the office yesterday and it was great to see him back where he belongs.

I'll backtrack a little for the few of those who won't realize what a momentous occasion this was.

Judge Warner, who I've worked for for the last 20 years (will be 21 in September) and is my boss, best friend, and dad all rolled into one, was diagnosed with throat cancer at the end of January. He started then on his journey to recovery with radiation and chemotherapy and it pretty much kicked his butt. But he's so far cancer free as of the last PET scan and is slowly building back up his strength. Wednesday was his first time back in the building and let me tell you word spread fast that he was back and he had lots of visitors.

I had a surprise for him too. His hair hasn't grown all the way back in (right now he's in the CHIA Pet stage) so I bought him one of those powdered wigs that judges wore back in the day and presented it to him when he got there. Thank goodness he has his since of humor back. He actually put it on and let us take a picture!!!!

He stayed for a couple of hours and just visited, spent a little time cleaning up his desk, and took some work home with him. He's planning on coming back to work just a couple of afternoons a week starting the 21st. Words can't tell you how happy we'll all be to have him back!!!!!
